For more than two decades, renowned Chef Jonathan Gushue has been satisfying palates with award-winning menus and an inventive culinary style that balances both tradition and imagination. His accolades include Grand Chef Status in 2008, the Taittinger Award for Excellence in Cuisine in 2009, the Pinnacle Award for Canadian Chef of the Year in 2010, and the Gold Award in the Chef Category from the Ontario Hostelry Institute in 2011. His work in past establishments has helped them attain multiple CAA 5 Diamond Awards and propelled them into San Pellegrino’s list of best 50 restaurants in the world.
With The Berlin, Gushue desires to deploy the techniques and styles he has learned throughout his travels in England, France and Japan. He is trading traditional fine dining for a wood-fired grill to deliver a modern take on European fare.
